AFTER being out of action for six weeks, Beach Buddies gets going again this coming weekend, with an event with a difference – and it’s not on a beach!
We will be making another attempt to hold a community clean-up event at South Barrule plantation on Sunday, January 7th, at 10.30am where we know there is a fairly big job to do, clearing rubbish which has gathered over the years.
This is the very first volunteer weekend team event to be held in one of the Island’s plantations, but there are plans to make such clean-ups a regular feature on the Beach Buddies’ calendar.
Two previous attempts have been made to hold an event at this plantation, the first hit by bad weather and the second by the Covid 19 lockdown.
The meeting point is the South Barrule plantation main car park. All equipment is provided and Beach Buddies will remove the items collected, recycling as much as possible.
