BEACH Buddies is seeking support from the Peel and western community this weekend when the charity holds a beach and community clean-up on Sunday morning, October 4th.
Following two very successful community clean-ups last weekend – one in Douglas and another in Jurby – removing huge amounts of rubbish, attention now shifts to Peel.
The plan is to meet at the former swimming pool at the northern end of the promenade at 10.30am, with the aim of cleaning the beaches in the town, and also as many of the footpaths and public areas as possible.
Beach Buddies will provide all the equipment, although volunteers may wish to bring their own gloves, in the current circumstances. However, we have plenty, if needed.
The session ends at 12noon. Everyone welcome – especially new volunteers and families. All ages catered for. Dogs with well behaved owners also welcome!
• Beach Buddies is sponsored by FIM Capital and receives annual funding from DEFA.
