WITH stormy conditions expected, Beach Buddies is heading inland this weekend and will be holding its first ever community clean-up event in Ballasalla on Sunday morning from 10.30am to 12 noon, meeting in the car park at Rushen Abbey.
Please park in the car parking area near the recycling bins, and not in the hotel car park as they will be expecting guests for Sunday lunch.
Beach Buddies provides all the necessary equipment (gloves, bags, litter pickers) and we remove all the items collected, recycling as much as we can afterwards including plastics, glass, tin cans, hard plastics and metals. The remainder goes to the EFW (Energy From Waste plant) to be turned into free electricity.
If you have never been before, then please come along and join in. No need to register, just turn up if you can and join in and you will be guaranteed a warm welcome. We love seeing new volunteers and we had another 12 join us last week. Families are particularly welcome.
