A VERY poor weather forecast has forced us to make the decision to cancel the beach cleaning event in Ramsey for Sunday, December 13th. There’s a Yellow Weather Warning in place for high winds and heavy rain, so we’ve called off our event. We get together again in South Barrule plantation for a brand new clean-up event on January 3rd. Please come along – this will be something new for us all. 10.30am start.
Thank you to every single person who has picked up rubbish in the Isle of Man this year. Our beaches are in fantastic condition, which is a big bonus for wild birds and animals – as well as human beings! You all do an amazing job, and it is genuinely appreciated.
We are fast approaching the total of 16,000 different volunteers since we started keeping statistics in 2012, which is a staggering figure, and by a huge margin the highest ratio per head of population in the world.
The year 2021 promises some quite amazing things, which we are dying to tell you about, but we are at the moment sworn to secrecy. But this will be massive news for Beach Buddies, and great publicity for the Isle of Man.
Watch this space! Have a wonderful Christmas. See you in the new year, hopefully on January 3rd.
