THE first public volunteer event for the new clean-up group River Buddies will take place this Saturday morning (Dec 10th) on the banks of the Douglas River near the Nunnery.
Access to the river itself is not advised this time of year during the migratory fish spawning months, so there will be a clean-up along the banks of the river. The meeting point is on the access road leading to the amenity site. The event will take place from 10.30am and no later than 12 noon.
River Buddies is new group linked to the charity Beach Buddies who will provide all the equipment such as gloves, bags and litterpickers.
