THE TWO charities Breast Cancer Now and Beach Buddies are planning to break the record for the Douglas Dip on New Year’s Day, which takes place from 12.30pm opposite the Queen’s Hotel.
A new record was created last year, when the two charities linked up for the first time, and the organisers are hoping the people of Douglas and Onchan will help to smash the record again with the 2020 event.
It’s really easy to get involved. All you have to do is turn up in whatever outfit you like, take a walk down the beach and either dip your toes in the water, or take a run and dive in headlong!
There is no entry fee, but we hope you will all be generous and place a donation in the collection buckets, and we’re hoping spectators will also dig deep to help these two excellent causes.
We will also be selling the remaining copies of the Beach Buddies’ 2020 calendar to raise money for both charities. Just come along with all the family for a great fun event for all the family.
And let’s break the record (again) this year. Douglas is by miles and miles the biggest town on the Island, so we should be able to do this easily. See you there !!!
