Beach Buddies has received a large number of messages asking our advice on whether beach cleaning activities should continue in the current circumstances.
For those who go out on their own, or in very small groups with friends or family, then the current situation (at the moment) is that we believe it’s OK. We ALWAYS advise that volunteers wear gloves and use litter pickers (which we supply). This is more important now than ever before.
But everything is subject to change, very much dependent on advice from the government.
However, we have decided to call off our weekend events, as we normally get a minimum of 50 volunteers each time. But we don’t see a problem (at the moment) with small groups such as families going out on their own.
If the situation changes we will make an announcement immediately.
