BEACH Buddies will continue its series of community clean-up events this coming weekend when attention shifts to the north of the Island, and the town of Ramsey.
The beaches in Ramsey are in very good condition, thanks to a number of regular volunteers who collect rubbish on a regular basis, so we are again going “inland” this weekend on Sunday morning at 10.30am to collect rubbish all around the town
It follows a series of very successful community clean-ups this last few weeks which have included Jurby, Peel, Port Erin and parts of Douglas.
The meeting point is the main Ramsey Shoprite car park from 10.30am to 12 noon, courtesy of the owners Ramsey Town Commissioners. New faces are always welcome and we have found that the community clean-up events have attracted new volunteers each time. Beach Buddies provides all the necessary equipment and disposes of the items collected afterwards, recycling as much as possible, such as glass, plastics, tin cans and metals.
• Please note – all young children must be accompanied by an adult for this event, as it could involve crossing roads and using pavements. We advise that this is not a good event to bring your dog, unless on a lead at all times.
