BITTYLICIOUS says it is “super proud” to be the latest company to sponsor one of the Beach Buddies’ seaside collection bins – positioned on Ramsey South Promenade near the lifeboat station.
The cryptocurrency trading company, based in Onchan, has signed a 3-year deal to be the main sponsor of the bin, which is part of a network of over 50 Beach Buddies bins all over the Island’s coastline, regularly emptied each week by the charity, with all contents recycled where possible.
The official spokesman Ludwig the Pug for Bittylicious Isle of Man Limited, said, “We saw this as a perfect opportunity to be involved in this initiative and to support the amazing work Beach Buddies does for the Island.
“As a team, we are environmentally aware; our office is virtually paper-free, and we recycle materials/waste through local business Recycle Collect. Some of our team are based in Ramsey and will be visiting the bin and the beach over the summer (if the Manx weather permits!)
Beach Buddies’ founder Bill Dale said, “We are particularly pleased with this bin sponsorship as the approach came out of the blue from the people at Bittylicious because they wanted to do something for the environment.
“We have sponsored bins across the Isle of Man, but many of them don’t have a sponsor, so we’re hoping that this new sponsorship agreement will help encourage other companies to get involved and help us maintain what has frequently been described as the island with the cleanest beaches in the world.”
Bittylicious added, “We look forward to helping to keep the Isle of Man litter free and beautiful for everyone to enjoy. And we hope people will look out for our pug mascot Ludwig on the bin who is also helping by finding plastic cups on the beach!”
