STAFF at Swagelok have chosen Beach Buddies as the latest recipient of a generous donation made from the proceeds of the company’s regular dress-down days.
Beach Buddies was in the top four nominated by staff and subsequently received funds donated plus another £50 paid by the company in lieu of Christmas card expenditure.
The company’s sports and social club (a.k.a. Marown Engineers Sports and Social Club) also organised sponsored team activities in the Viking Long Boat Races and the Tin Bath Races. Funds raised by these two activities were then matched by Swagelok.
The result was a substantial donation totalling £1,115 which was handed over by staff representatives to Beach Buddies founder Bill Dale. He said, “This was a really nice surprise, and very generous. Donations like this make a real and genuine difference to our charity, and another bonus is that the staff are now keen to attend a beach cleaning event later this year. We look forward to hosting them.”
