Following an unfortunate incident this weekend, it’s been suggested that a Beach Buddies “volunteer” took a big pile of books out of the Beach Buddies bin in Ramsey and chucked them in the road.
To give our official view: we don’t really care what goes into the bins (to a point), and we would encourage people to take their own domestic waste to the amenity site.
If anyone who supports Beach Buddies takes it upon themselves to sort out the rubbish left inside a bin then please don’t. We can do this ourselves and we do it pretty much once a week for every one of our 40+ bins around the Isle of Man.
We most definitely do not encourage anyone to take rubbish out of any bin and chuck it in the street. OK – books are domestic rubbish and they shouldn’t really be in there. But such items are obviously much better in the bin than thrown in the road.
