THE Isle of Man’s young people are setting a fantastic example to everyone as we begin the new year.
After hearing about the story of 7 year old Eleanor Cain asking for a litterpicker and hi-viz vest for her top Christmas present, and then embarking on a clean-up around her home, in the plantation and then joining in with Beach Buddies for the first time, we have now heard of other young children doing the same.
A six year old boy also asked for a litterpicker and hi-viz and Father Christmas granted his wish, and he’s now out cleaning up his local neighbourhood. And we’ve been told about another keen 7 year old boy is also out doing the same.
How many other young children are doing their bit for the Isle of Man’s environment and wildlife? Please let us know. We would love to get them all together for a photograph and hopefully an article for the local newspaper, to show how they are setting a fantastic example.
And remember – the rest of the world is watching what is happening in the Isle of Man. We are setting a great example to everyone else, and countries all over the planet have been watching to see how it’s done.
If you have a young eco-warrior in your family let us know and we will try to get everyone together very soon for a very special photograph. email: [email protected]
